Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. Her family was raised as part of an ethnically diverse family. Jacqueline's father Elroy Fernandez is originally from Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is Malaysian. Jacqueline is the youngest of two brothers and a brother who is older. The 80s were the time when her parents fled to Bahrain due to civil unrest over Sri Lanka. As a result, she was born and raised in the country. After completing the schooling in Bahrain she won an Scholarship at University of Sydney to pursue an Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. As a lover of all cultures and languages she also took part in the Berlitz school of languages, which is where she began to learn Spanish and improved her French as well as Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 was crown in March 2006; she also took part in Miss Universe 2006 In the wake of being crowned Miss Sri Lanka in 2006 Padukone started her career in the world of television. She hosted the television show Lanka Business Report which focused on Sri Lankan Business. Padukone (the mother of badminton player Prakash Padukone) was born and raised in Bangalore. In her teens she competed in badminton at National level competitions. She later resigned her profession in sports to pursue a career as a model. Padukone is a native of Mangalore in India. Her native language Konkani is where she comes from. Padukone is located within the Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi located in Karnataka State in India, is where her family originates. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is an ex-badminton player with international repute, and her mother is a travel agent.
